Assassins Creed Brotherhood

I have played the two others games before this one and really enjoyed them and I was looking forward to this one coming out, I thought it was kind of like the second one with just a different story but there is a lot more to it.

It is set in Rome the story starts directly were the second one finishes you climb out of the chamber to meet Mario and go back to your family’s villa in monteriggion. Then Cesare Borgia attacks the villa and kills Mario and takes the apple. Ezio then heads back to Rome to retrieve the apple and rid the city of the Borgia influence.

There are side missions where you go back to young Ezio and try to get stuck into girls. There are other missions where you leave the animis and go back to set up a base in the villa and others where you are climbing around the coliseum.

The sense of place and time is really good. You spend the majority of the time in Rome and while you miss out on exploring multiple cities’ the city its self is huge and you have lots of different things to do in it. There is so much more detail small things like people walking around with lanterns in the evening and flirting with each other behind buildings and pillars.

I thought the soundtrack was class it helps to enhance the atmosphere and make some of the story missions more intense when you’re playing them. The movement mechanics are kind of the same as before but slightly more smoother and there are rope lifts that fling you up to roof tops which helps for a quick getaway.

The Borgia influence is spread all over Rome and they have bases set up which you must take over. First you have to assassinate the commander sometimes he will flee which is really annoying because you will have to wait and come back again. After you have killed him you have to climb the main tower which unlike in the other games this takes more navigation you have to climb around it to get grips. When you get to the top you burn the tower and jump off. When you take over a tower you can build shops in that area and the money they make goes into the bank which you can withdraw which makes the economy a lot more meaningful than before.

There also are the followers of Romulus which leads to mad climbing missions which I diddent really like. There is a lot more to them than in the last game in one of them fire erupts from beneath you and others where you use your crossbow to crash things down out of your way which makes it more engaging than just climbing around.

You can also recruit other assassins and send them out on contracts across Europe to build their level up and use them to help you in battles. I liked recruiting the assassins and building them up but it didn't really lead to anything and I found it kind of meaningless but I enjoyed it none the less and it’s really cool when you’re going in to take out a few heads you can pick which guys you want them to assassinate which gives it more of a strategic approach.

It also has a multiplayer which is whopper taking out other players online and going up rank and unlocking different types of games.

Over all I found the game really fun and very interesting. I get the odd craving now and again to go on the odd free run which this game supplies very well. The game is stuffed with amazing details and has lots of fun and varied activies.
